About the Artist
Roseanne Jones is a Christchurch-based mixed media artist working at the intersection of photography and material transformation. Grounded in her photographic practice, her work evolves through processes including photo encaustic, paper collage, and layered mixed media.
Incorporating elements such as vintage lace, Jones creates works that balance fragility and texture, history and gesture. Her imagery — often drawn from winter trees and coastal environments — explores themes of memory, resilience, and the passage of time.
A graduate of Ara Institute of Canterbury (Bachelor of Design, Photography), Jones has received national recognition, including the Canon Eyecon Award and NZIPP Student of the Year. Over the past decade, she has exhibited widely, establishing a strong presence within the Christchurch art community.
Currently working from The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora, where she continues to develop and share her evolving mixed media practice.
