Wax Mixed Media
Method & Mediums Used To create a Wax Mixed Media Artwork; Roseanne prints her own inkjet pigment photographic image onto acid free paper and then mounts onto board using acid free glue. Once the print has been mounted, she then covers the image with brushed or poured on clear encaustic medium. The next step is the mark making using sculpting tools to create the contrast between smoothness and texture. Then a mix of oil paint and cold wax is mixed together and rubbed on, left for a few minutes then rubbed off. The textured areas will retain the oil paint & cold wax mixture. The work is left to dry after this process. Roseanne usually creates multiple pieces at the same time as they can take days to complete.
